Agave Lounge in
the Eldorado Hotel
This popular bar and restaurant located in the Eldorado Hotel in Santa Fe, NM is full of specialties; giant fireplace, leather wall, zinc countertops, lots of specialty items. It was a real challenge structurally, as the design removed several load-bearing walls and had to be completed in 40 days. It was!
PERA Building
Public Employees Retirement Association Office – LEED Gold Certified | The PERA Building is the largest Rammed-Earth structure in the Southwest. Its 24″ walls were formed with Abique red earth and 5% concrete, mixed dry and compacted in forms. It is a 16,000 sq. ft. LEED Gold project and received the 2010 Best Building in Class and Best Overall Green Building awards from the Associated General Contractors Association.
The Costilla Lodge
Off-The-Grid on the Vermejo Park Ranch in northern New Mexico | The Costilla Lodge is a 12,000 sq. ft. Log Structure on the Vermejo Park Ranch in northern New Mexico. All stone and timber was harvested from the ranch property. The massive logs making up the walls have been sawn in half, in order to have a frame structure with blown-in insulation in between the logs. This project is completely “Off The Grid”.

The Compound Restaurant – Santa Fe historic renovation on Canyon Road
The Compound Restaurant has a heritage rich in history and regional influences. Before its incarnation as a restaurant, this adobe home was the centerpiece of a group of houses on Canyon Road known as the McComb Compound.
Santa Fe School of Cooking and Market
Remodeling this historic building in downtown Santa Fe for the Santa Fe School of Cooking was a pleasure. This project was designed to be simple, open and effective for the client’s cooking classes. Building and remodeling on a tight budget is important and Lockwood Construction brings our best ideas on how to keep our client’s building costs as low as possible.
Doodlets - a beloved historic | downtown Santa Fe novelty shop
This project was the renovation of a three-story adobe and frame, civil war era building, in serious structural danger of collapse. The floors were removed, helical piers installed and a red iron structure was erected inside the original building to hold it up. It was a virtual “ship in a bottle”! Operations were additionally difficult as the project is in downtown Santa Fe with absolutely no staging space.
Santa Fe University of Art and Design - Welcome Center Campus
Lockwood Construction Company has done an enormous amount of work on the improvements of this campus. Three large dormitories were completely renovated, a cafeteria built, and huge amounts of landscaping and civil work done. The Welcome Center and movie studios were renovated, and a computer lab was constructed in an existing building.
9/11 Memorial and Tribute Ceremony, AFD Fire Station No. 2, Albuquerque, NM
Lockwood Construction Co. is honored to build fire stations and various public projects in Albuquerque and Northern New Mexico. In this 9/11 ceremony in 2012, Governor Susana Martinez paid tribute to those individuals who lost their lives in the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. Fire Station No. 2, was dedicated to their memory.

Lockwood Construction Company has been serving the construction needs of Santa Fe and the State of New Mexico for over 76 years. The company began in the late 1940’s when Bob Lockwood opened a lumberyard and designed and built the first concrete block plant in Northern New Mexico. In 1948, Lockwood Construction Company was formed to do small jobs for customers of the lumberyard and block plant. The contracting business then grew to include the design and construction of residential and commercial facilities.
In 1991, Robert Lockwood Jr. joined Lockwood Construction Company after practicing civil engineering for many years in international cities

As a community and customer oriented business rooted in Santa Fe, Lockwood Construction was organized to take care of all its customers’ construction needs regardless of project size or type.
As a result, the company evolved with multi-faceted services that could both build commercial facilities and then provide maintenance and on-call construction services to maintain our customers’ facilities and protect their investment.
About us
Since the 1980’s, the Company’s work has focused on residential and commercial development and construction.
This included the planning and development of Rancho Viejo, a 23,000-acre land development south of Santa Fe where the Santa Fe Community College was located as part of the initial development.
Work has included commercial building, public works projects, historical restoration projects, hotel additions, remodeling and high-end custom homes. In 1991, Robert E. Lockwood, Jr. returned to Santa Fe, joined his father, Bob Lockwood, and became an active member of Lockwood Construction Company.
